Life is so short to wish time away,
Summer's too hot with long sultry days.
So for fall I am longing once more,
My favorite time that's for sure.
Yet, again I love springtime too,
Oh, what is a person to do?
Winter is long and oh so cold
Then I long for snow, truth be told.
My longings are mingled with three,
Fall, spring and winter, I'll take thee.
As if my longings could control,
Whether it be cool, warm or cold.
Longing for fall, I will settle,
And with the others not meddle.
Leaves turning yellow, orange and red
As they cover the fall flower bed.
A mixture of texture and hue,
The sight that is long over due.
I'll enjoy this time while I can
And leave summer out of the plan.
Longing for health is a must,
So in this I'll put my trust.
Thanking God for life and limb,
Leaving the Longing, Up to HIM ! !
