Glistening pinecones on the ground,
Scattered about as the wind blows 'round.
Ice and flakes in a snowy mix,
Here it comes, a frosty winter blitz!
The eve of the first snowfall,
Ole man winter is making a call.
School is out from Christmas break
Here in the south winter comes late.
A January snow is coming here,
All the children shout with cheer.
The ground will be covered in heaping mounds, As the snow falls and covers the ground.
Just yesterday my mind went back, To another snowfall that made its track. Phenomenal amounts piled here and there, Making travel quite a scare.
And for this year I was hoping, Or maybe at wishes I was groping. To witness another pretty event, Of snow, fun and time well spent.
Graying skies overhead, Which for some will bring dread. Could it be that snow is due, Oh, I hope that it is true.
The glorious beauty that it makes, God in His wisdom sends no mistakes. Purity and robes of white, Is what the snow reminds me of tonight.
The moonlight shines upon the snow, It glistens and has a beautiful glow. Perhaps just a taste of Jesus's Light. Shines forth upon this night.

Revelations 21: 23 ~ And the city had no need of the sun, neither of the moon, to shine in it: for the glory of God did lighten it, and the Lamb is the light thereof. |
