THE VILLAGE AT DUSK

There's a quaint little village,
Looks like an English nook.
With stone walks going round
Has quite a misty look.

The rain falls lightly down
Upon the scene it glows.
As the sun begins to set
It mirrors the walks, looking wet.

A wishing well sits in the center,
Of this picturesque view,
Bidding you come and venture,
A wish with a coin or two.

The cottage's windows are aglow,
Because nightfall soon would show.
A pretty lass awaits her date,
Alas, he hasn't come, he's late.

Her face has a sultry glow,
As day turned to darkness, no show.
She impatiently peers out the door,
At last he appears, she is waiting no more.

They stroll down past the wishing well,
The misting rain, no longer fell.
The clouds gave way to moonlight,
The misty dusk turned into a lovely night.
