| He gave us hands that we may use, As we go through every day life,' To touch and feel and savor, To hug people and ease their strife! He gave us eyes so we can see, The pain, and hurt and strife! That flourished throughout the world, This sometimes painful thing - called life! He gave us a heart so vast, So we may hurt and cry and pain, And rejoice in adulation, For the loving we will have once again! He gave us ears that we may hear, And eyes that we may see... But not for all, no, not at all...! For others he let them be... He left them in the dark of night, So black they can-not see... And gave them ears that do not hear, So they live in a world that's noise free! Then this gift from God, this icon wise, Were dogs that lead the blind! To give them freedom to walk about, So it's seeing-eye dogs we find. And though the deaf can't hear, They can clearly say what they tell, For the language of the silent, Holds a special tale that they spell! So what one may be given, And others had taken away...! Always, always remember, No matter what, He will show us a way! He gave us a soul so precious, So we can learn and grow in love, And always remember that He is there, Hovering over us, up above! Look beneath, look deep inside, Forget the outer cover that's on show! Because all that is, is camouflage, Where hatred and anger grow! Why do people make judgments? And why do they hurt and maim? What on earth do they do it for! And tell me, what is their aim? People should look to the inside, And not to the outer skin! Because the goodness of the person, Comes from deep within! You see many a different parcel, With fancy paper and bows! But until that package is open, What's inside, no-one knows... The outer packaging may be pretty, Or it may even be a disgrace, But the sweetness that's within Will put a smile on many a face! But as you peruse the parcels, Will you always go for the look? Because if it's ugly and you turn away! Then you're judging the cover of a book! The cover of a book's not reliable, There's no telling what's inside, For everyone carry their own sorry war, And at times will run and hide! Hide from the hurt of the world, And shy away from the pain, And all because people the world over, Judge the cover of that book once again! Take away that cover and look! See what it is you will see! You will see what's inside of 'you!' Is the same as what's inside of 'me'! We are all different, but all the same, The outside is just a different hue! Remove that package and see... You are me, and I am you! Don't you judge the cover of a book today! Look to the heart, the mind, the person! It's not about colour, religion, or gender... It's about the heart, the mind and the soul... It's about respect, caring, compassion and understanding! ...Live and let live... ...Smile and the world smiles back... ...Hate and you hate alone...
