| Royal and regal, bloodlines sustained Generations pass down royal names. Kings, Queens, Dukes and Earls, All familiar titles from royal worlds. Rich and materialistic as well, Along with the names upheld. Glory and honor from their homelands, Always regaled and bowed to by man. Proud of their ancestors who lived In honor of their countries to give. Leadership and courage some possessed, Others denying the heritage left. I belong to a royal family as well, But it's not of this earth the royalty dwells. My royal kin lives in high places, Where the sins of the world the King erases. He once lived here among sinful man, Sent as a part of His Father's Plan. He walked among earthy royalty, A lowly king dishonored his loyalty. John the Baptist, was his kin, And also walked among sinful men, Making a path for Jesus to trod, Helping him to teach of God. Herod the king, at the time, Wanted to remove Jesus and his kind, The head of John he promised his child, That's when everything went wild. He hated Jesus and the Father's plan, To turn the hearts and souls of man. While Jesus was away teaching God's word, Herod was plotting His life to destroy. Not knowing that he was a part Of God's plan to win man's heart. The story is told of Jesus sacrifice, And how He gave us new life. So since I gave my heart to Him, A member of the Royal family I am. The King of Kings sits on HIS Heavenly throne Which one day will be my royal home. Written by Shirley Barr May 29, 2005 IN HONOR OF MY KING Luke 12: 30, 31 ~ For all these things do the nations of the world seek after; and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things. But rather seek ye the kingdom of God; and all these things shall be added unto you. |
