STORM'S ARREST

Watch the skies as they darken in shade
Off in the distance a storm is brewing
A faint flash of light across the sky is made
The sound of faraway thunder is ensuing.

I love to watch the heavens as the show begins
Coming  closer, changing hues, it's soon approaching
Colors of the rainbow can be seen by storms end
But the most exciting part, is the eye encroaching.

Sonic booms can be heard as if jets were in the sky
Just a brief time later, the light show starts
Brightens the sky like a thousand beams so bright
Fascination of thunderstorms, have always been in my heart.

The gentle rain as it begins spilling from the clouds
Holding back at first and building into a pour
Sitting under a tin canopy, listening for the pounding loud.
The excitement builds, then it begins to wane as before.

The silence is deafening after it begins to arrest
You wait in anticipation for yet another round
The trees are still and tall reflecting in the lake
No movement at all can you hear up or down.

Then the faint rumble in the distance begins again
Your heart begins to pound harder in your chest,
Just like the arrested pounding of the rain.
At last you hear it draw closer and closer from the west.

A huge flash of light, followed by a giant clap
Another storm is headed in this way,
What a grand explosion and torrents of rain at that
Always brings to mind, what God can display.

What a beautiful summer's day, what a light show
All the elements were sounding in harmony
The big bass drum, the bassoon, violins playing low
A beautiful symphony to watch and see ! !

Psalm 104: 1 ~ 7
Bless the Lord, O my soul, O Lord my God, thou art very great; thou art clothed with honour and majesty..
Who coverest thyself with light as with a garment; who stretchest out the heavens lie a curtain;
Who layeth  the beams of his chambers in the waters; who maketh the clouds his chariot; who walketh upon the wings of the wind.
Who maketh his angels spirits; his ministers a flaming fire;
Who laid the foundations of the earth, that it should not be removed forever.
Thou coveredst it with the deep as with a garment;  the waters stood above the mountains.
At thy rebuke they fled; at the voice of thy THUNDER they hasted away.
