SINCE I MET THE LORD
Days are filled with joy
Ever since I met the Lord
No more hours of emptiness
Mostly feelings of happiness.
I can't imagine how I lived
The memories from my past are healed
The love and care that I share
With my children is always there.
Never a day when I want out
There's always something to care about
How do people survive without a touch
From those who are special and mean so much.
Friends and family are number one
Except for my Father and His Son
They gave me back this joy I feel
And that is why I know it's real.
No surface affection would ever last
It's like handprints on a dirty glass
Only when they're washed away
Can you catch a glimpse of love that stays.
Since I met the Lord, my life's complete
Oh there are toils and trials, but not defeat
The POWER of the Holy Spirit abides
Since I met the Lord, there is joy inside ! ! !
