| A MOTHER'S LOVE A gift from Heaven Borrowed for a while. Given to you, With a big smile. A precious baby, Sent from above, That reaches out For a mother's love. She's tender and helpless, Dependent on you, Such a sweet freshness Sweeter than honeydew. Born into sin, But is protected by love, God reaches down And gives peace like a dove. Growing up is hard to do, Temptations are there, Always plenty in view Teach her, the right choices share. Childhood fun and games, Happy and carefree, Still she is in your charge Your love she still needs. Live you life as an example, Loving and steadfast continually. She watches you just to see And immulates and tries to be. The kind of mommy She sees in you. Be a reflection of living right, Show her direction, day and night. God's precious gift, Will someday out grow. The safety and care, Of you and your abode. Every mother's desire Should always be To raise her like Jesus Would want her to see. The beauty of life And all it unfolds, If you strive to be right And care for her soul. She is only a gift, On loan for a while. So do your very best, And watch her beautiful smile.
