| MORE THAN JUST FRIENDS There are many things in life That are difficult to comprehend. Situations that may have caused strife And leave you helplessly in sin. You are floundering and grasping For the answers to your needs So many questions that need asking, Help me Lord, send someone please! You know that Jesus loves you But somehow you are amiss As to what you need to do To help you handle this. How many times can I ask Him To come and rescue me? All my friends, I have lost them I am so alone, sad as can be. Lord I know that you love me And I am sorry I've let you down, But there is something that I need, That I just haven't found. Lord can you send me a heart friend? That I can tell my troubles too. Someone who I feel safe to confide in, And we both will honor you. You know I can't live without you, And Lord, you know my mind You also know my heart and what to do. Send me a friend, one of a special kind. One that will listen to me for hours And never turn away and not care. A friend in fair skies or in showers That will always be there. I understand they may be scarce, And I know that you have a busy day. But I can be patient, and stay aware That they might not come my way. I thank you Lord, ahead of time For all you do for me, So please forgive me when I whine And take for granted your love for me. If I can have this one request To have a heart friend tried and true, I will endeavor to do my very best To be content and so thankful to you. Oh, thank you Lord, I understand I know now, she's been standing by It has always been in your infinite plan And we THANK YOU, she and I.
