| HATS Have you ever wondered about hats, Not hats that men wear....not that But the hats for women to put on instead I can see where they might save the head.... But really now, think about it for a while There are so many hats and they always change style Big hats, tiny ones, pill boxes they are called Well, after you see them, why, they cover nothing at all. Now there are the not only big, but huge hats, like a shade tree They cover much, much more that is necessary, can't you see If you were working in the garden and the sun was beating down But to wear these monstrosities just to walk down town? That's not bad enough, they have to weight them down... Huge satin ribbons, flowers, to keep the wind from blowing them round They would soar like a frisbee out of mind and sight Poor lady would never know her hat was the first in flight ! And do you think their heads ached after wearing them all day? Or they might just wear them because their because their hair was astray If you see one coming, you better step aside, make room... You might get knocked over and you'll...have the headache soon ! Well, times have changed and so have hats More men wear them now, still, little old ladies still do that. It's this thing about not breaking tradition... you see? You're not dressed up with out a hat on your Bee! Well, I never liked them, and I never will Although I have worn a few pills....... The fad never really caught on with me......... So I will stay with my color and DO........you see...... Written by Shirley Barr June 21, 2004 All Rights Reserved |
