The hands of God you will see
Are those of you and me
As we minister to those here below
His precious love to show.

His hands are those of the groom and bride
Clasped as vows they make
To be faithful and true
Staying close to each other's side
Their whole life through.

His hands are those of the doctor
Who guides a new life into the world
And hands it to the mother
To hold and welcome with a heart full of love.

His hand is the mother bathing the fevered brow
And praying just now,
Lord heal this dear child
And bring again a happy smile.

His hands hold the tools
Of honorable work
To make money
To provide for the family.

His hand leads a little child
Out of danger that is near
As the parent holds on tight
When the child cries in fright.

His hands are those of a neighbor
Coming to aid with labor
When there is a need
The family to feed.

His hands stroke the ivory keys
Playing a song of praise
As to the Father our voices raise
Accompanied by the hands on the piano keys.

His hands are those of the artist
Stroking paint to create a masterpiece
Depicting the creation of man
From God's mighty hand.

His hands are those of a friend
Holding a grieving soul
Weeping for loss
When life comes to an end.

His hands are those holding the Bible,
God's Holy Word,
Reading to people like me and you
So we can hear the Good news.

The hands of God were nailed to the cross
Holding the Son there to die
Paying for the sins of you and I
Bringing salvation to the lost.
