| GET READY TO GO ABOARD Pretend you are sailing along lifes sea Not water in sight, just waves of memories. Your cargo once precious as silver and gold Is losing it's usefulness, and becoming old. Funny how things change as we grow older What use to be priceless, we throw it over. Trinkets and fads we use to strive to possess. What is the difference, they mean less and less. You lessen the load on your ship of life And start to struggle through , things you divide. Out goes the pride that long weighed you down Off with the grips that had you bound. The load is getting lighter now, away goes cares Not for mankind, but those you had to bear Your pretense is coming to an end at last. Because your ship of life is docking dry and fast. Content with the little things, to just be you And stop all the struggle, begin life anew, Watching and waiting for the real ship to come in. Sail on Sweet Zion, I'll be ready for you then. Ready to get on board and really sail away To that land of glorious and endless day. Got my passage cleared, nothing holding me back Just waiting and watching, life's on the right track. Get rid of baggage that weighs you down And make room for Jesus and your crown. Written by Shirley Barr April 8, 2004 All Rights Reserved Hebrews 12: 1 ~ 2 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us. Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and set down at the right hand of the throne of God. |
