| MUSIC: ' WINTER WONDER LAND' Sequenced by and permission given |
| The first big snow of the season Had covered the ground all around. I was hoping not to have a reason To take a trip downtown. It started a day or two ago And drifted as the wind blew high. Carrying each flake, making a show What a wonderful, glistening sight. The sky is gray with ominous clouds As we throw another log on the fire. Cold winter nights come o'er like a shroud Filling our hearts with warm desires. In days gone past when I was a child My father had a sleigh and two horses. We would glide across the snow like wild And sing tunes to the top of our voices. Waving to those we passed on the way Father tipped his hat and yelled, "Hello" While hearing the bells hanging round the sleigh Horses trotting along, what good fellows. The Holidays will be here soon A time to spread cheer and go wassailing. The frozen creek is glistening from the moon As we approach the bridge crossing. The flicker from the fire brought me back From my memories of childhood days. The cozy fire on a cold winters night...... And blessings God gives so many ways. As I look across the front lawn The way is filled with light, From the street lamps that are on I see a little bunny in the night. His nose is twitching, sniffing the ground Content is his little world, his home. God takes care of the creatures all around Giving them sustenance as he roams. "ON A COLD WINTER'S NIGHT HERE AT HOME" Written by Shirley Barr November 23, 2005 Psalms 33: 3, 4 ~ Sing unto Him a new song; play skilfully with a loud noise. For the word of the Lord is right; and all His works are done in truth. |
