THE BLIND GIRL SEES
Through empty eyes, the little girl
stared blindly into space.
Her gaze was focused heavenward;
a smile was on her face.
“ I “see” the beauty of this earth,
blue skies I can behold.
The running deer, the chirping birds—
I see these through my soul.”
“When I see visions through my soul,
Though blind, I have no fear.
I know I’m well protected, for
I “see” that God is near.”
